40% Serve as lead Project Manager for major research programs (Trackers and NPS/CSAT)

  • Work in collaboration with vendors to execute Trackers and NPS/CSAT research programs
  • Supervise vendor performance and ensure adherence to budget and schedules
  • Modify research programs as needed
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for key internal clients, as requested
  • Create concise and impactful presentations that clearly communicate insights

40% Design and direct custom quantitative and qualitative research projects on a standalone basis

  • Design custom quantitative and qualitative research studies to address key corporate and market questions
  • Develop research objectives and determine appropriate research techniques
  • Develop and manage project plans and budget
  • Develop and manage RFP process, including vendor selection (where applicable)
  • Create, program and test questionnaires; develop Discussion Guides
  • Develop and execute sampling plans (including the establishment and management of quotas) and recruitment criteria, processes and screeners
  • Oversee fieldwork, supplier performance and vendor budgets/schedules
  • Analyze and synthesize data to derive actionable insights for the business
  • Develop and present findings and recommendations
  • Provide support for projects in The Sandbox (Carters online research community), as needed

20% Datamine secondary and syndicated research for marketing trends and consumer insights innovations

  • Continuously track information on market trends involving retailing, social networking, e/mobile marketing, e/mobile commerce
  • Monitor eMarketer, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as source material for consumer trends
  • Interweave syndicated and secondary research results with primary research and social media findings
  • Scan the marketplace for cutting edge research techniques and develop recommendations for adding relevant techniques/methodologies to the Carters Inc. research portfolio

Budgetary responsibility for Trackers, NPS/CSAT and custom research studies where serving as the lead project manager

Experience and Skills

― Extensive experience in designing/directing complex quantitative/qualitative research projects, including:

  • Formulating research objectives
  • Determining optimal research methodology
  • Analyzing complex data sets
  • Merging qualitative as well as quantitative insights to derive actionable implications for the business

― Extensive experience designing/executing online surveys (email & site intercept surveys)

― Ability to design qualitative research project plans best suited to the nuances of our business

― Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style/ability to flourish in a team environment

― Knowledge of cutting edge quantitative and qualitative research techniques and the ability to apply those techniques to meet the needs of our business

― Ability to create concise and impactful presentations that tell a story with the data and clearly communicate insights

― 8 or more years of B2C marketing research experience (included in this experience: at least 5 years in marketing research project management, at least 2 years with a research supplier / consulting firm)

― Consumer Insights experience in the retail sector a plus

― International B2C research experience a plus

― College degree required. College major in one of the following fields preferred: Marketing, Statistics, Psychology, Cultural Anthropology

― Graduate degree a plus
